Why's that Eddie... you unfit ??

Re: England v Turkey
Wasn't it a marvellous moment yesterday when an unfit, out of form midfielder (Henderson) replaced another unfit, out of form midfielder (Wilshere).

Makes you proud to be English.

Sven, Cedric is good player! Had an absolutely cracking season for Southampton. Steal for under £5m. We probably spent that for 2 seasons worth of Jenkinson....

France have a wealth of talent but they always choke

I fancy Spain, no idea why

Portugal have one of the best young midfields in the world

Lack a top striker but the defence is steady

If Ronaldo turns up and with the likes of, Mario, Sanches and Carvalho supporting they could do something at the tournament

Portugal's squad includes the Southampton defenders Cedric & Fonte plus Nani and Eder who was bombed out of Swansea on loan.
C Ronaldo will have his work cut out dragging that lot along.

Yeah the rest of the Portuguese side is generally pretty average. Carvalho the old Chelsea player still gets a game and he's 38.

Re: England v Turkey
There's massive cause for optimism though. This squad is mixed with players who have had to start in lower leagues and work their way up, mixed with experienced PL and international players.

Our defence is shocking, we desperately need an authoritative figure at the back to organise things, Cahill doesn't appear to be that sort of person.

Cough - Most likely, yes, but are they actually shit? I also keep hearing that Maradona won a WC on his own?

PD, as in the last tournaments, Euros and WC, having Ronaldo is no good if the rest of the side is shit

Re: England v Turkey
Clearly the way forwards is two up top, and a diamond.

Been saying it for weeks. But we can switch to a forward three which is something we haven't had the luxury of for a while.

Danny Rose is fucking shocking, he looks scared and erratic whenever he's on the ball .

Picking up on my point just now, how good, or otherwise, are the likes of Spain, Germany, France these days?

Portugal may be a threat simply because they have Ronaldo?

Then again is Vardy left footed? My memory is bloody shit recently.

Re: England v Turkey
Who's Sturridge?

Am guessing he'll probably be in there ahead of Vardy due to being left footed, though I hate playing people out of position and worry we might have a few of them.

Rooney potentially proved on Saturday that he has to start as well (if he'd played shit Roy would still start him as caption obviously), so who will he come in for in that midfield?

Out strongest side will probably have a good 7/8 superb players in there, so hopefully the others will step up a level in the tournament.

Cough - Not been mentioned much, it seems as if Vardy has now moved above him.
